Waste management company Saubermacher Slovenija has seen stable growth and increased the number of its employees by 20% since 2008 to 128 at the end of 2010, wrote the jury, representing the Slovenia Times magazine, the Public Agency for Entrepreneurship and Foreign Investments (JAPTI) and the Economy Ministry.

The second award winner is synthetic fibres manufacturer Julon, which the jury said proved that sales and added value can increase substantially despite the continuing problems on the market.

Delighted with the award, Julon chairman Edi Kraus stressed for the STA Julon was the biggest Italian investment in the real sector in Slovenia, already employing 750 people.

Giulio Bonazzi, the head of Aquafil group to which Julon belongs, moreover explained that close to EUR 150m had been invested in Slovenia since 1995. Announcing Aquafil was staying in Slovenia as a long-term investor, he highlighted the country's manageable size as an advantage.

The third winner of the award is glass manufacturer Ertl Glas Steklo, which was chosen on the basis of the launch of a EUR 8m production hall in the southern town of Ribnica.

The jury also highlighted the performance of Kranj-based Goodyear Dunlop Sava Tires, describing it as a model of successful financial management. Goodyear Dunlop Sava Tires received a special award for the long-term commitment in Slovenia.
