Tacen - Slovenian canoeist Luka Božič won a World Cup event in Tacen on Sunday in what is his second World Cup victory. Benjamin Savšek and Jure Lenarčič finished sixth and ninth, respectively.

Because of coronavirus, the competition was not as strong as it would be, as German, British, Slovak, Polish, French and Czech competitors canalled attendance.

"Winning at home is special, although it must be said that this was not a real World Cup. But victory is victory," said Božič, who shared the podium with Nicolas Gestin and Jules Bernardet, both from France, in second and third place.

This is Božič's second World Cup victory after Seu d'Urgellu, Spain in 2018, and his second podium result in Tacen.

In women's category, Alja Kozorog finished fifth behind Ana Satila from Brazil, Luce Prioux from France and Evy Leibfarth from the US. Lea Novak was seventh.

The first day of the 2020 ICF Canoe Slalom World Cup Ljubljana-Tacen saw Slovenia's Peter Kauzer finish second, behind surprise winner Isak Öhrström from Sweden.

In women's category, Eva Terčelj was fourth, as France celebrated a double victory of sisters Romane and Camile Prigent, and Leibfart was third.
