Ljubljana - AmCham Slovenia has declared Hidria the winner of its best business practice award as part of the Best of the Best project. The industrial conglomerate has earned the accolade for its new technology of lamination in electric motors, called Hidria Bond.

The winner in the campaign which took place for a seventh year in a row has been selected in an online poll, voting by an expert jury, and voting at Friday's final online event hosted by AmCham Slovenia.

Hidria Holding director Iztok Seljak said the company's greatest motivation was a "vision of a better future for all", adding that the award-winning innovation was about electric, clean and green mobility.

"We want to be world champions in green mobility," he said about the new technology developed by a team of Hidria engineers headed by Špela Bolka.

The technology improves lamination of stator and rotor packs for high-performance electric motors for new hybrid and electric vehicles, Bolka said, adding that Hidria's electric motors were also suitable for use in medical equipment.

They may also used in generators for wind turbines. "The technology may be used for various applications, it is a very green technology and the process is cheap, enables greater range and changes the user experience," she said.

AmCham Slovenia director general Ajša Vodnik said that, without best business practices, there would be no healthcare, education or sport, which is why they needed to be encouraged and the best performers rewarded.
