Ljubljana- The SPIRIT investment promotion agency will host an on-line conference intended for potential foreign and Slovenian investors and focusing on tourism, construction and innovative solutions.

Entitled Slovenia: Stability - Opportunity for Growth in the Changing Times, Wednesday's conference will look for investment opportunities in the tourism and construction sectors and in innovative solutions by fast-growing companies.

Intended for potential foreign investors and Slovenian operators of investment projects, the event will feature round table debates and bilateral virtual meetings between the participating partners.

Tourism will be presented as a major industry with multiplier effects on numerous other sectors, with SPIRIT singling out resorts, hotels, cities, tourist centres and ski resorts among investment opportunities in this field.

Also to be discussed is the situation and opportunities in construction, which has been growing steadily in recent years, with Slovenia placing among the EU member states with the highest annual growth rates. Focus will be on commercial construction.

When it comes to innovative solutions by fast-growing companies, SPIRIT has stressed that Slovenia is a leader among Central and East European countries in the number of "hidden champions" - very successful and innovative SMEs.

Announcing the event, the agency has said that foreign direct investments are an important factor of economic growth, adding that it continues to promote Slovenia as a green, creative and smart investment location also during the Covid-19 epidemic.
