Non-essential services closed again, temporary travel allowed

Ljubljana - Shops that are not selling essentials will be closed again as of Thursday and only essential services will be provided as the temporary easing of restrictions before the holidays ended on Wednesday. Public transport will continue to operate during the holidays and travel around Slovenia will be allowed on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

Under the government decree, only shops selling mainly groceries, hygiene products, products for cleaning, pharmacies and shops selling medical supplies will be open. Farms will also be able to sell their products.

Agricultural shops, petrol stations, post offices, financial services, delivery, and counselling will also be allowed. Food takeaway will also be possible.

Several non-essential services temporarily reopened between 15 and 23 December.

Today and on Friday, Christmas bubbles of up to two households or a maximum of six adults are allowed between noon today and 8pm tomorrow. The maximum number of persons does not include those aged below 15.

During this time window, travel between municipalities and regions is allowed. Another window for visits and restricted household mixing is expected to be between noon on 31 December 2020 and 8pm on 1 January 2021.

Trains and buses will operate but they can only be half-full.
