Positivity rate for PCR tests remains level at 26%

Ljubljana - Slovenia logged 1,783 coronavirus cases on Thursday from 12,423 PCR and antigen tests combined. The combined positivity rate remained level on the day before, standing at 14.3%. So did the positivity rate for PCR tests alone, at 26.3% - 5,187 PCR tests were performed, resulting in 1,363 new confirmed infections. 28 Covid-19 patients died.

Out of the 7,236 rapid antigen tests, conducted on Thursday as part of the voluntary mass testing, 420 returned positive for a positivity rate of 5.8%, which compares to 4.9% on Wednesday, fresh official data show.

A total of 1,142 persons were in hospital yesterday, 47 fewer than the day before. 201 required intensive care, down by nine. 106 were discharged home.

Another 28 Covid-19 patients, pushing the death toll to 2,507.

The 7-day average of new cases was up by 58 to 1,412, and the 14-day incidence per 100,000 residents increased by ten to 951, show data published on the government website.

According to the national tracker Covid-19 Sledilnik, a total of 20,036 cases are active.
