More Turnover with Fewer Employees

Slovenian companies generated EUR 17.5bn of value added, which is an 8% increase compared to 2009. On the other hand, the companies spent 17% less for investments, which amounted to EUR 4bn.

The largest decrease in employment, turnover and value added in 2010 was recorded in construction. In manufacturing, which includes 15% of all Slovenian companies, 6% fewer workers were employed, but the turnover and value added increased by 9% and 13%, respectively.

The Statistics Office recorded the highest increase in turnover in water supply and waste water and waste management (by 35%), the majority of which was generated in waste collection, treatment and disposal.
