Ljubljana - Sonja Šmuc, the director general of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GZS), will leave her post by mutual agreement effective on 28 February, the GZS announced on Tuesday.

The procedure for the appointment of a new director general has started. In the interim period, the chamber will be headed by executive director Mitja Gorenšček.

Šmuc was appointed for a four-year term starting in October 2017. "In the last three years, the GZS, under the leadership of president Boštjan Gorjup and director general Sonja Šmuc, has been successfully financially stabilised and strengthened in terms of staff," the press release reads.
