Chief Covid-19 advisor decorated by PM
Ljubljana - Prime Minister Janez Janša has honoured Bojana Beović, an infectious disease specialist who until recently headed the team of experts advising the government on the coronavirus epidemic, with a memorial decoration for her selfless efforts in the fight against the epidemic, according to a post on the government Twitter profile.
Beović, a specialist employed at the Department of Infectious Diseases at the Ljubljana UKC hospital and a lecturer at the Ljubljana Faculty of Medicine, took over as the new head of the Medical Chamber on Thursday, ending her service as the government's chief Covid advisor.
The memorial decoration for selfless efforts in the fight against Covid-19 is intended in recognition for the efforts of medical staff, members of the civil protection, Armed Forces and Police Force and other individuals, groups, local communities, companies, institutions, NGOs and other organisations that have been actively involved in the efforts to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
