European Business Award is intended to encourage excellence and innovation in European business community. Following the European union goals, the award committee has followed companies in 30 European countries and invited the best ones to compete for the award. Independent board of businessmen, politicians and journalists have evaluated over 220 companies and selected the best one in each out of ten categories to award it with Ribbon of Honour.
Mercator was recognized as exceptionally active in the field of social, cultural and environmental area. The award puts Mercator beside Slovenian ultra light airplane maker Pipistrel, which has last year took the Ribbon for innovation.
