The First Two Stages of the Virtual Tour of Slovenia with almost 500 Cyclists from 43 Countries!

SportVirtual online events

In the first two stages of the I Feel Slovenia Virtual Tour of Slovenia, sponsored by Zavarovalnica Generali and Hervis, a total of 479 cyclists from 43 countries have already registered. While the first stage with the ascent to Krvavec was won by the German recreational cyclist Julian Steffens, the second stage last Saturday, which took place in the Dolenjska region, was won by the Canadian Bruce Bird. The first edition of the virtual cycling Tour of Slovenia, which takes place on the virtual platform Rouvy, exceeded expectations after the first two Saturdays, as more and more recreational cyclists from all over the world get to know the beauties of Slovenia - virtually from their living rooms.

A special guest of the first stage was professional cyclist Matej Mohorič (team Bahrain Victorius), in the second stage an additional motive for recreational cyclists was Slovenian professional Jani Brajkovič (team Adria Mobil). Both mentioned that the test was something new for them, above all, they did not imagine that some recreational cyclists were so driven and were able to ride the route in really great times.

I feel Slovenia Virtual Tour of Slovenia, organized by the Cycling Club Adria Mobil, the Sport Media Focus agency and the Slovenian Tourist Board, will have three more stages, which will be broadcast every Saturday, always starting at 7 PM CET. The next stage, which will take place this Saturday under the sponsorship of Frutabela, will take place from Izola via Šmarje to Koper (39 km) and will be especially attractive for many foreign recreationists due to the route right by the Adriatic sea. Domen Novak, a member of the Bahrain Victorius team, will be the guest in this stage, while on Saturday, March 20, the best cyclist in the world, our ace Primož Roglič (Jumbo Visma), will be a special guest on the fourth stage towards Pokljuka plateau. The virtual race Across Slovenia will end with the fifth stage, which will take place on March 27 as a time trial on the streets of Ljubljana.

Each stage will count as a stand-alone race, at the end of each stage the winner will symbolically win a virtual green jersey. Among those who will perform on all five stages, a green jersey for the winner will be awarded in the men's and women's categories in different age categories. The virtual cycling race will be an exceptional opportunity to promote Slovenia as a cycling destination, so the cooperation of our best cyclists, including Primož Roglič, who are also great ambassadors of Slovenia in the world, is a great challenge for foreign recreationists to get to know the cycling beauties of Slovenia.

KK Adria Mobil will also provide live streaming of all five stages on the YouTube platform. It will be available on the website www.siol.net and on the Rouvy YouTube profile.

Registration on the Rouvy platform and application for the race is possible at the link: www.race.rouvy.com. Upon registration, everyone receives 14 days of free use of the Rouvy app, and there is an additional 14 free days available at: https://woobox.com/22ivcr.
