Planica - Norwegian ski jumper Daniel Andre Tande is still in an intensive care unit at Ljubljana's UKC hospital after suffering a heavy fall in Thursday's trial round at the World Cup meet in Planica. "His condition is stable and is in the phase of waking up," anaesthetist Špela Štupnik Pirtovšek, a member of the medical team in Planica, said on Sunday.

Tande was placed in a medically induced coma after being airlifted to UKC Ljubljana on Thursday.

He was met by medical staff on the hill following his horror fall that saw him land on his head before rolling down to the base of the landing hill.

He was admitted to ambulance unconscious and had to be intubated. After being stabilised he was airlifted to hospital.
