Austria's Michaela Kirchgasser was 2.27 back in third.

This is the 31st career top-three World Cup finish for the 28-year-old Maze.

After clinching two second spots and one third in five slaloms this season, Maze ranks second in the World Cup slalom standings and third overall.

Maze was only 0.9 seconds behind Schild after the first run, and a quarter of a second ahead of Kirchgasser.

The second course was set by her coach Livio Magoni, an opportunity that Maze used to extend her lead ahead of Kirchgasser to 0.87 seconds, while she was no match for Schild, who has been unbeatable in the discipline this season.

"I'm very happy I put up a good second run too... I found it very helpful that the course was set by Magoni. But it could also have been a liability," Maze said.

The other two Slovenian competitors, Ilka Stuhec and Katarina Lavtar, were eliminated in the first run.
