The main purpose of the book is to present Maribor from the point of view of its most outstanding landmarks and cultural and natural monuments. The book will also present basic information on important cultural institutions, in which we can delve further into the town's past and experience both its past and present creative and artistic strength. The focus of the presentation will be a reworked text from the mentioned 2000 guide, somewhat shortened and of course refreshed with up-to-date information. Shorter chapters cover landmark events in Maribor (the town in years), general information about the town and the presentation of the most notable features of the European Capital of Culture 2012 programme.
