Ford Focus won over four other finalists: Audi A6, Citroen C4/DS4, Hyundai i40 and Toyota Yaris.

The Slovenian car of the year was chosen by readers and listeners of ten media outlets: the dailies Delo, Slovenske novice, Dnevnik, Nedeljski dnevnik and Večer, automotive magazines Motorevija, Avto magazin and Avto Foto Market, web portal Siol and public radio Val 202.

This is the 20th time the award has been given out. So far, Volkswagen has been the most successful car maker, winning it five times since 2000. Ford Focus already won the award in 2000.
