Smokie is an English pop and rock band, which started its career in 1974. They achieved the height of their popularity in the 1970s. They had many hit singles and popular songs, with Living Next Door to Alice considered their trademark song, even though it was a cover version of the New World song. In the early 1980s their popularity dropped, but they have been making a comeback in the last few years.
