Epidemic remains in retreat
Ljubljana - Slovenia reported 159 new coronavirus cases in 2,117 PCR tests on Saturday, down significantly from the week before. The test positivity rate was 7.5%. Four Covid-19 patients died, fresh government data show.
A total of 9,425 people were screened with rapid antigen tests with all the positives there subjected to PCR tests.
Hospitalisations dropped to 306 this morning, from 319 the day before, and the number of patients in intensive care decreased by four to 98.
The 7-day average of new cases fell to 337 from 356. The cumulative 14-day incidence per 100,000 residents is at 262.
Slovenia has confirmed 251,690 cases since the start of the pandemic, of which 5,588 are estimated active, according to data by the National Institute of Public Health (NIJZ).
Slightly over 629,000 people have received a single shot of a coronavirus vaccine and almost 332,660 have been fully vaccinated, some 19% of the adult population, government data show.
