Majority of coronavirus restrictions extended
Ljubljana - The government has decided to extend the majority of existing coronavirus restrictions while slightly easing them in the cultural sector, where serving food and drinks will once again be permitted during cultural events.
The remaining restrictions - the majority have to do with consumer-facing services - have been extended until 20 June. The government said on Thursday this was done based on an assessment by the Health Ministry's coronavirus advisory group.
The head of the advisory group, Mateja Logar, told the STA yesterday the group would propose that the formal declaration of epidemic, which is due to end on Tuesday, be left to lapse.
Nevertheless, the group thinks the existing measures should remain in place given the still high incidence of new cases.
Slovenia currently has a 14-day incidence of 162 per 100,000 population. While this places it in tier yellow in the Slovenian classification, it is still red according to the criteria of the European Centre for Disease Control.
