65 new coronavirus infections on Monday, one death

Ljubljana - Slovenia reported 65 new coronavirus cases for Monday in what continues to be a significant week-on-week decrease. A single Covid-19 patient died, show fresh official data. The seven-day average of new daily cases fell from 76 to 69 and the 14-day incidence per 100,000 residents dropped by seven to 66. Hospitalisations also decreased.

The latest infections come from 2,177 PCR tests for a positivity rate of 3%, which is a drop from 4.8% a week ago.

In addition, 33,964 rapid antigen tests were performed yesterday, with the positive cases double-checked by PCR tests.

The number of hospitalised persons was down by 13 to 92 this morning, 33 of whom require intensive care, two fewer than on Monday.

According to data by the National Institute of Public Health (NIJZ), there are currently some 1,400 active cases in the country.

A total of 599,147 persons or 28.5% of the population have been fully immunised, show NIJZ data.
