Friday case count rises week-on-week
Ljubljana - Slovenia reported 93 new coronavirus infections for Friday in what is another daily case count increase in weekly comparison after two days of a downward trend in infections. The 7-day average case count is up by four to 63 and the cumulative 14-day incidence per 100,000 residents rose by one to 39, fresh official data show.
The latest cases come from 1,865 PCR tests. Some 43,700 rapid antigen test were also performed yesterday with all positives there double checked with the PCR method.
The positivity rate stood at nearly 5%, up from 3.5% a week ago.
The National Institute of Public health (NIJZ) estimates that the number of active cases in Slovenia has increased from 818 to 831.
Since the start of the pandemic, Slovenia has confirmed 258,620 infections. A total of 895,752 or 42% of the population have received the first dose of a Covid-19 vaccine and 788,268 or slightly over 37% have been fully immunised.
