Slovenia's goods exports in June up 21% year-on-year


Ljubljana, 9 August - Slovenia exported EUR 3.3 billion in goods in June, which is 21% more year-on-year, while imports were up by 30.6% to EUR 3.4 billion, the Statistics Office reported on Monday.

In June, a deficit in trade was recorded for a third month in a row, standing at EUR 100 million, with exports covering imports at a rate of 97.5%.

Trade with EU member states represented around two-thirds of total trade, with Slovenia exporting EUR 2.2 billion in goods to these countries in June (21.4% more year-on-year), while importing EUR 2.3 billion (up 29%).

To non-EU countries, Slovenia exported EUR 1.1 billion in goods in June (20.3% more compared to June 2020), while importing EUR 1.2 billion (up 33.8%).

In the first half of the year, exports were up by 18.9% compared to the same period last year, to stand at EUR 19.2 billion, while imports were up by 24.9%, to stand at EUR 19 billion.

In that period, Slovenia recorded a trade surplus of EUR 200 million for exports to cover imports at a rate of 101.1%.
