Hrastnik - After a one-year break due to Covid-19, Hi Festival returns to Hrastnik this year for its fourth edition, looking to combine music and art with the working class heritage of the eastern Slovenian town. The highlight of the two-day event, which starts on Friday, is the best-selling electro house music performer Tujamo.

Tujamo, the German electronic dance music producer and DJ whose videos have tens of millions of views and downloads on various web platforms, will perform on Saturday.

In 2019, he became the best-selling performer of electro house music on the Beatport platform, and has also performed at major electronic music festivals, including Tomorrowland.

Another headliner is the up-and-coming star Matroda, who hails from Croatia's Zagreb. He is one of the most successful electronic music producers in the Western Balkans, who will embark on an European and US tour in September.

The festival will also feature Slovenian rock bands Tabu and Rock Partyzani, veterans of Slovenian electronic music, Dr. Silvano DJ and Veztax, and digital artist Katie Shock with an exhibition of her digital works.

"We don't understand music only as a basis for partying, but also as a form of art, which is why integrating music with other forms of art is a feature of our festival," Jernej Peklar of the organisers has told the STA.

As part of the digital art segment of the festival, visitors will be able to attend workshops on cryptocurrencies, with Hi Festival being one of the first festivals which allows tickets to be purchased with cryptocurrencies.
