Highest Sunday case count since mid-May

Ljubljana - Slovenia reported 116 coronavirus infections for Sunday in what is the highest Sunday case count since 10 May. The 14-day incidence per 100,000 population continued to rise, by four to 163, show fresh figures.

According to the national data tracker Covid-19 Sledilnik, hospitalisations increased to 75 and the number of ICU cases totals 18. One person with Covid died yesterday.

The 7-day average of confirmed daily cases exceeded 300, standing a 304, show data by the National Institute of Public Health (NIJZ).

The latest cases come from 754 PCR tests for a positivity rate of 15.4%, which is more than double the figure a week ago and comes after the country confirmed 244 cases on Saturday, the highest Saturday figure since mid-May and an increase of 150% on the previous week.

A total of 11,114 rapid antigen tests were also performed yesterday.

The NIJZ estimates there are currently almost 3,500 active cases in the country.

A total of 968,971 people or 46% have received the first dose of a Covid-19 vaccine and 881,119 or 42% have been fully immunised.
