Business sentiment improves in August
Ljubljana - Slovenia's business sentiment improved again in August after a period of decline. The indicator is now at 6.4 percentage points, up 0.8 points from July and up 12.4 points year-on-year, the Statistics Office reported on Wednesday.
On a monthly level, business sentiment and confidence improved in services (+0.7 points), retail (+0.3 points) and manufacturing (+0.1 points).
Meanwhile, the influence of the consumer confidence sub-indicator was negative (-0.4 points), while construction remained at the same level as in July, thus having no influence on the indicator.
At the annual level, the indicator in August was up by 12.4 points, influenced mostly by the confidence sub-indicators in services (+5.9 points) and manufacturing industries (+4.6 points).
Meanwhile, a less significant improvement was recorded in construction (+1.1 points), among consumers and in retail (both +0.4 points).
