Vojnik - MIK, a company producing and supplying doors and windows, generated EUR 24.4 million in revenue in 2020, up by more than 40% on 2019, and EUR 1.2 million in net profit, up by some 50% year-on-year. The Vojnik-based company expects a 10% growth this year.

MIK also plans to start building an institute to develop ventilation systems as well as a manufacturing facility where these development ideas will be brought to life.

The EUR 8.5 million investment is expected to be completed at the end of 2022. "The construction of the institute will bring 200-230 new jobs to the Vojnik municipality" in eastern Slovenia, said the company, whose flagship product is the innovative local ventilation system MIKrovent.

New development and production facilities, including test chambers, will span over 6,900 m2 to expand the MIKrovent project, whose key markets are Europe and the US.

"Effective ventilation is the best prevention and solution for mitigating the spread of the coronavirus and other airborne infections," MIK said.

The company's long-term plans include efforts to achieve an 8% growth in sales revenue year-on-year, boost exports so that they account for more than 50% of sales revenue, create new value-added jobs and be environmentally-friendly.
