Slovenia reports 538 coronavirus cases for Friday
Ljubljana - Slovenia confirmed 538 coronavirus infections on Friday as the test positivity rate remained high, standing at 17.3%. The 14-day incidence per 100,000 population increased by 13 to 229, show fresh official data. Hospitalisations continued to rise as well. Two persons with Covid-19 died.
The number of Covid patients in hospital totalled 121 this morning, up by four on the previous day, with 22 in intensive care, same as the day before, government data show.
The youngest patient in hospital is aged 21 and the youngest patient requiring intensive care is 39, the government said.
The latest two Covid-related deaths put Slovenia's death toll at 4,776, according to the Health Ministry data.
The National Institute of Public Health estimates that there are currently 4,893 active cases in the country, up by 275 on the previous day.
The 7-day average of confirmed daily cases also increased, by 21 to 414.
A total of 986,030 or 47% have received the first dose of a Covid-19 vaccine and 899,504 or 43% have been fully immunised.
