Bled - Arriving at the Bled Strategic Forum on Wednesday, Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković lauded Slovenia and Croatia for bringing their relationship into a very good phase through a mature approach. He said the bilateral border issue could be tackled this government term.

During the term of Slovenian Prime Minister Janez Janša the two countries established "splendid dialogue, excellent communication and cooperation". "Economic ties, tourism, open issues, everything is being solved to the satisfaction of both countries," he added.

He said the border issue was important and the desire was for it being tackled in a way not encumbering relations or fishermen on either side of the border.

Asked whether the border issue would be resolved in this term, he said: "As far as we are concerned, yes. [...] It would be good, everyone would be happy."

Plenković is taking part at the Bled Strategic Forum in a panel debate on the future of Europe and he is also scheduled to meet PM Janša on the sidelines of the event.
