Ljubljana, 3 September - Slovenia logged 610 fresh coronavirus cases for Thursday as the number of patients hospitalised with Covid-19 rose to 180 this morning, combined data from the National Institute of Public Heath (NIJZ) and the Covid tracker site shows.

NIJZ figures show the 7-day average of new daily cases has now topped 500, at 501, as the cumulative 14-day incidence per 100,000 neared 300, at 297.

There are now an estimated 6,325 active cases in the country, up nearly by 300 from the day before.

The test positivity rate remained roughly the same as the day before, at 18.5%.

According to the tracker site covid-19.sledilnik.org, hospitalisations rose by 18 from yesterday to 180 this morning after 33 patients were admitted yesterday and only 15 were discharged.

41 of the patients are in intensive care.
