According to the office, the prices for electricity decreased for industry, which meanwhil saw in increase in the prices for natural gas.

The average price of natural gas for industry stood at EUR 15.20 per gigajoule, which is 16% more than in the first half of 2011. Average natural gas prices excluding VAT were up 23% for small businesses and up 15% for large companies.

The average price of electricity for industrial consumers was down 1% to EUR 9.15 per 100 kWh, VAT excluded. The average price for industry, VAT included, stood at EUR 10.98 per 100 kWh.

The prices of electricity for industry in Slovenia stood at 89% of the EU average in the first half of 2011, while the prices for households were at 81% of the bloc's average.

Natural gas prices on the other hand exceeded the EU average, with the prices for households standing 18% above the average and the prices for industry 30% higher than the average.
