ICT sector maintains robust growth
Ljubljana - The Slovenia sector of information and communications technologies (ICT) continued to grow in 2020. Both the number of staff working in the sector and its revenue rose, show the latest Statistics Office data.
The number of employees and the self-employed working in ICT rose by 2% to almost 30,000. Revenue likewise rose by 2% to EUR 4.55 billion, which compares to a 6% drop in revenue for the corporate sector as a whole.
Software publishers recorded the sharpest rise in revenue, 15%, followed by programming and related services, which were up by 5%.
For value added, the sector as a whole reported a 14% increase after a 10% improvement in 2019.
Value added per employee rose by 10% to almost EUR 60,000.
