Slovenia to sell to Australia over 20,000 doses of Moderna
Ljubljana - Slovenia will sell to Australia 20,400 doses of the Moderna vaccine it has already ordered but not yet received, after Australia asked EU members at the end of August for help it in its Covid-19 vaccination effort. Selling the vaccine on to Australia will not endanger public health in Slovenia, the government said on Monday.
Since Australia wants the vaccine to be delivered directly from the producer, Slovenia will sell it some of the doses it has not yet been delivered, thus also avoiding transport costs, the government said after its correspondence session.
It also said there was more Moderna vaccine in Slovenia than actually needed and more than there is interest in vaccination with this vaccine in the coming months, so the sale will not pose a risk to Slovenian residents' public health.
