Nuclear physicist Cizelj named to SSH supervisory board
Ljubljana - Leon Cizelj, a nuclear physicist working at the Jožef Stefan Institute, has been named a member of the supervisory board of Slovenian Sovereign Holding, as the National Assembly voted 46:36 in favour of his appointment on Wednesday.
Cizelj succeeds Igor Kržan, who stepped down from the five-member supervisory board in January. He was the only candidate to apply in an open call for applications and has been appointed for a five-year term.
Cizelj is best known in the public as the author of projections of the coronavirus epidemic and has appeared at government press conference several times to present the projections, which are also used by the government as one of the data sources for deciding containment measures.
He has previously served as member of the supervisory board of several state-owned energy firms.
