Ljubljana - The government has somewhat relaxed the mask wearing rule at Wednesday's session. The masks will thus no longer be needed in indoor public places where food and drinks are being served or in situations and settings when everyone is immunised against Covid either through vaccination or recovery.

Announcing the latest changes at a government press briefing, the Covid spokesperson Maja Bratuša said guests in places where food and drinks are being served under adherence to the recovered-vaccinated-tested rule (PCT) would no longer be required to wear face masks.

Those have so far not been mandatory for guests seated at the same table in hospitality establishments. Now the exception is being expanded to all settings where food or drinks are sold or served such as cinemas or receptions. Moreover, masks in those places will also not be required to go to the toilets, which has so far been the rule at hospitality establishments.

According to Bratuša, masks will also no longer need to be worn by people who meet the PC rule in settings where only persons meeting that rule are in contact.

From Friday, state administration employees will need to meet the PC rule at the workplace unless the mandate is suspended by the Constitutional Court. This means that they would no longer need to wear masks at work.
