Ljubljana - The Administrative Court has annulled the government's decision to replace two members of the supervisory board of RTV Slovenija, the Slovenian public broadcaster.

The government on Tuesday dismissed Matjaž Medved and Petra Majer, who were appointed to the RTV Slovenija supervisory board in January 2018 by the Miro Cerar government.

In their place the government appointed Milenko Ziherl and Anton Tomažič, and a day later the new line-up of the supervisory board appointed Janez Čadež as new board chairman, to replace Danilo Tomšič.

The supervisory board comprises 11 members, five of whom are appointed by the National Assembly, four by the government and two by RTV Slovenija staff. The board's term expires in January 2022.

The Administrative Court now annulled the supervisors' replacement in a decision that Majer announced could no longer be appealed.

The court found the government's decisions were faulty because of complete absence of the facts of the matter therein.

The government will also have to pay for the legal costs.
