Christian Gerharer is an exception among today's classical music stars, as he was able to build his reputation without grand performances on opera stages or aggressive media promotion. He has charmed audiences with his concert performances, in particular with his solo-singing, bringing numerous comparisons with one of his most influential forerunners and teachers, the baritone Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau. During his studies at the Munich Music High School, he collaborated closely with his school contemporary, the pianist Gerold Huber, who acts exclusively as his accompanist for solo singing.
