Janša meets Renyders for talks on EU presidency

Politics

Brussels - Prime Minister Janez Janša held talks with European Justice Commissioner Didier Reynders on Thursday. The details have not been revealed beyond the government saying the discussion revolved around the key dossiers of Slovenia's EU presidency.

It is unclear if the discussion also touched on Slovenia's failure to appoint its members of the European Public Prosecutors' Office.

Reynders has called on the government several times to complete the appointment, noting that Slovenia may face legal action over its failure to comply with EU law.

The meeting comes after Janša held talks last night with Council President Charles Michel dedicated to presidency dossiers as well as energy prices, migrations, the Western Balkans and the Eastern Partnership, the government said.

A meeting with Enlargement Commissioner Oliver Varhelyi is scheduled for later today.
