Over 1,000 Covid cases confirmed on public holiday

Ljubljana - Slovenia logged 1,136 new coronavirus infections on Monday, a public holiday, as the test positivity rate stood at 43.1%, show fresh data by the National Institute of Public Health (NIJZ). Data from the tracker site shows Covid hospitalisations climbing further as ten patients died.

Both the seven-day average of new cases and the 14-day incidence per 100,000 population decreased, by 164 to 2,177 and by 25 to 1,329, respectively, NIJZ data show.

Hospitalisations totalled 634 this morning, up by 31 on the day before, including 158 in intensive care, up by 16, according to the tracker site Covid-19 Sledilnik.

The NIJZ estimates there are now 28,047 active cases in Slovenia, down by 532 on the day before.
