Foreign Minister Logar admitted to hospital, report says

Ljubljana - Foreign Minister Anže Logar has been admitted to the UKC Ljubljana medical centre, reported the news portal Siol.net on Saturday. According to unofficial information, the minister has appendicitis and is awaiting surgery.

No further information on his condition is yet available.

Logar attended on Friday a meeting of foreign diplomats accredited to Slovenia, said the Foreign Ministry on Twitter.

The meeting marked 30 years of Slovenia's independence and the second Slovenian EU presidency and was hosted by the diplomatic corps's doyen Jean-Marie Speich, the apostolic nuncio to Slovenia.

On Thursday, Logar hosted his Qatari counterpart Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, and on Wednesday, he was on a visit to Athens to meet his Greek counterpart Nikos Dendias.
