Ljubljana - Another 2,313 people tested positive for coronavirus in Slovenia on Saturday as over 42% of the PCR tests came back positive. Hospitalisations have risen to almost 800 and eleven more Covid-19 patients died, government data shows.

A total of 797 Covid patients were treated in hospitals this morning, 49 more than the day before, as the number of patients in intensive care rose by nine to 184.

The National Institute of Public Health estimates there are now over 36,000 active cases in the country.

The latest infections pushed the seven-day average up y 92 from the day before to 2,858, whereas the 14-day incidence per 100,000 residents rose by 38 to 1,707.

Health Ministry data puts the overall death toll from Covid at 5,149.
