Ljubljana - Slovenia recorded 4,481 new coronavirus infections on Tuesday in what is the second highest daily number since the start of the epidemic. The test positivity rate stood at 42.4%.

So far the highest number of daily infections was recorded last Wednesday, when 4,515 infections were detected.

The seven-day average rose by 144 from the day before to 3,322 and the 14-day incidence per 100,000 population increased by 64 to 1,849, according to data provided by the National Institute of Public Health (NIJZ).

The NIJZ estimates there are now slightly more than 39,000 active cases in the country.
