Slovenia had the upper hand throughout the game, also thanks to lack of discipline on the part of the opponent, who got as many as 36 penalty minutes.

The home team made a great start, scoring their first goal in the 3rd minute through Rok Tičar, who sent the puck into the net a second time in the 48th minute.

The other two goals were scored by Blaž Gregorc in the 27th and David Rodman in the 28th minute.

The honorary goal for Hungary was shot by Marton Vaš in the 51st minute.

In other matches of the day the UK defeated Ukraine in overtime 4:3, and Austria were surprisingly beaten by Japan 3:4 owing to penalty shots.

The only undefeated team, Slovenia are on top of standings with nine points. They are to play Ukraine on Thursday.
