New Covid-19 cases down slightly week-on-week
Ljubljana - A total of 2,245 new cases of coronavirus were recorded in Slovenia on Saturday, which is a slight decrease week-on-week, with the positivity rate standing at 47.4%, according to data by the National Institute for Public Health (NIJZ). The situation in hospitals is still critical, and another 19 patients with Covid died.
The 7-day average of new cases was down by 18 to 3,203, and the 14-day incidence rate per 100,000 population decreased by 3 to 2,118.
The government reported that 1126 people are currently being treated in hospitals for Covid-19, 26 more than yesterday, while 269 persons required intensive care, up by three. Another 19 patients died.
The youngest Covid patient in intensive care is 29 years old, while the youngest one treated in a regular Covid unit is ten.
The NIJZ estimates there are now 44,629 active cases in the country, down by 84 from yesterday's figure.
