Ljubljana - The average gross pay in Slovenia in September stood at EUR 1,873, while the average net wage was EUR 1,210. Both the average gross pay and the average net pay in September were down 1.4% nominally and 1.3% in real terms compared to August, the Statistics Office said on Monday.

Statistics Office data show that the average gross pay and the average net pay in September decreased in both the public and the private sector, with both decreasing by 2.1% in the public sector and by 1.1% in the private sector.

The average gross pay in September recorded the biggest monthly decrease in electricity, gas and steam supply, down 10.8%. Meanwhile, the biggest increase (3.8%) was recorded in financial and insurance activities, the sector which also had the highest average gross wage at EUR 2,669.
