Dubai - The Slovenian pavilion at the Expo show in Dubai attracted some 100,000 visitors in November after attracting over 120,000 in October, SPIRIT Slovenija, the agency in charge of the country's Expo showcase, said in a press release on Wednesday.

The pavilion hosted two business delegations in November, one from the field of urban and rural development and the other from factories of the future and new materials. Around 20 large business events and a number of smaller ones were also organised last month.

Fourteen Slovenian companies were showcased at the pavilion and they organised several business events and meetings for their promotion, while representatives of more than 50 Slovenian companies were part of business delegations.

The pavilion was visited by several high-profile guests, including Agriculture Minister Jože Podgoršek, Minister for Digital Transformation Mark Boris Andrijanič, State Secretary Andrej Čuš and MEP Franc Bogovič, as well as by UEFA president Aleksander Čeferin, Olympic athlete Brigita Langerholc and Michelin star chef Tomaž Kavčič.

It co-hosted an event at Women's Pavilion of the Expo, which featured two Slovenian women experts, Emilija Stojmenova Duh from Ljubljana's Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Ladeja Godina Košir, Circular Change platform director.

As part of Slovenia's tourism promotion, the pavilion hosted the city of Ljubljana, which will be promoted again in early 2022 as part of Central Slovenia region, while it was also visited by groups of Slovenian tourists, SPIRIT Slovenija said.

Since its opening on 1 October, the Expo has been visited by almost 4.8 million visitors, with another 23.5 million visiting it virtually, shows data from its organisers.
