Ljubljana - As the skiing season in Slovenia is starting, the government has set the conditions for the operation of ski lifts, whose use is permitted to skiers who meet the recovered-vaccinated-tested (PCT) condition. Wearing surgical or FFP2 face masks is mandatory in enclosed facilities and also in outdoor facilities if distancing is not ensured.

Ski lifts must be operated in accordance with recommendations from the National Institute of Public Health, says the decree adopted at the government correspondence session on Friday.

Upon purchasing ski passes, skiers will be required to show proof that they meet the recovered-vaccinated-tested (PCT) condition.

In enclosed facilities, use of surgical or FFP2 masks is mandatory for persons aged six or more. This requirement also applies at outdoor facilities if there are no free in-between seats. Exceptions are children younger than six and people with special needs.

Windows must be open at all times, even while facilities are moving, and the distance between skiers while travelling with a ski lift and buying tickets must be 1.5 meters, the Health Ministry said after the government session.

Today, ski lifts were launched in the ski resorts of Rogla, Krvavec, Kope and Vogel, while the resorts of Golte and Kanin will be up and running as of Saturday. In Pohorje, the new season is expected to start on 11 December.
