Ljubljana - Slovenia's coronavirus curve keeps flattening out with 1,737 cases confirmed on Thursday, more than a quarter fewer than the week ago and 18% down on the day before. Covid-19 hospitalisations remain high despite a drop and 17 more patients died, government data shows.

This morning 1,059 patients were still treated for Covid-19 at hospitals, including 269 at intensive care units. Compared to the day before the figures were down by 28 and 11, respectively.

According to the National Institute of Public Health, there are still 31,757 actively infected people in the country. This is down 1,770 compared with yesterday's estimate.

The seven-day average of new infections decreased by another 88 to 1,898 and the 14-day incidence per 100,000 residents fell by 84 to 1,507.

Almost 32% of the PCR tests came back positive yesterday.

The vaccination rollout is proceeding slowly, except for booster jabs. 312,800 have already got those. Overall, 55% of the population or 1,154,522 people have been fully vaccinated.
