Ljubljana - The government's Digital Transformation Office will sign a memorandum of understanding with US internet giant Google on Thursday. The agreement will be the cornerstone document for Google's investment in Slovenian know-how and solutions in the fields of digital transformation, social entrepreneurship and AI, the office said.

"The agreement will strongly support the digital transformation of the Slovenian economy and society by enabling a wide range of projects that will provide young people, entrepreneurs, institutions and public bodies with access to digital skills, artificial intelligence and social entrepreneurship, as well as start-up funding," said the office.

The signing ceremony, which will take place on Thursday at the Presidential Palace in Ljubljana, will be attended by Digital Transformation Minister Mark Boris Andrijanič, Labour Minister Janez Cigler Kralj, Google's Senior Director of Public Policy & Government Relations for Europe Annette Kroeber-Riel, and the head of Google.org for Europe, the Middle East and Africa Rowan Barnett.
