Ljubljana - Slovenian aircraft maintenance company Adria Tehnika announced on Wednesday that it had signed a new long-term contract with Hungarian low-budget carrier Wizz Air. Even though the previous contract was still valid, long-term cooperation with Wizz Air will become more active under the new four-year deal, Adria Tehnika said.

Both Wizz Air and Adria Tehnika keep up to date with the latest technology - in recent years, Wizz Air has been upgrading its fleet of aircraft with the popular Airbus neo types, while Adria Tehnika ensures that they are properly maintained and serviced, Adria Tehnika said.

"As the fastest growing low-cost airline in Europe, Wizz Air relies on the best providers with a wide range of services. Optimal technical support for our aircraft is crucial, and we are delighted that Adria Tehnika will also be one of our reliable partners in the future," said Wizz Air's Head of Technical Services Julia Brix.

"We are extremely proud that we have been able to strengthen our relationship with Wizz Air through a long-term cooperation agreement, which is certainly a sign of trust," said Barbara Perko Brvar, Deputy CEO of Adria Tehnika.

"Given the fact that Wizz Air's fleet consists of Airbus aircraft and we are very experienced with those aircraft types and the necessary modifications, the decision to work together was very sensible and I am sure it will contribute to mutual growth," she added.

Due to the scale of the annual maintenance and servicing needs, Wizz Air has selected several different companies to ensure that their aircraft fleet is in good shape - including Adria Tehnika, which is expected to carry out the first inspection of a Wizz Air aircraft in autumn 2022.
