Covid-19 tracker most searched Google entry in Slovenia in 2021
Ljubljana - Slovenians this year searched the web most often for information about the coronavirus, as shown by Google's data on Slovenia's most frequent searches in 2021. The data tracker website Covid-19 Sledilnik was the most searched entry, followed by the weather and Euro 2020, said the PR & Public Affairs Agency Grayling Slovenija.
The agency added that frequently searched keywords, such as SMSpass, vaccination, ban on movement between municipalities, vaccination certificate, curfew and distance learning, show that people in Slovenia were very interested in information on the measures against the epidemic.
The past year also saw a lot of focus on sport, with massive searches for athletes and sporting events, while the referendum on the amended waters act in July stood out as well.
According to data by Grayling Slovenija, some of the most frequently searched keywords after Covid-19 Sledilnik, the weather and Euro 2020 were earthquakes, the NBA, Bitcoin, Vuelta, Tour de France and the Olympic Games.
Among the most frequently searched persons were Olympic climbing champion Janja Garnbret, cycling ace Primož Roglič, MP Janja Sluga, singers Ana Soklič and Aleksandra Ilijevski, and Health Minister Janez Poklukar.
