Ljubljana - Visitors of the Slovenian pavilion at the Expo 2020 Dubai can admire a unique nativity scene, designed by Slovenia's greatest architect Jože Plečnik (1872-1957).

The display is a cooperation of Brezje, Slovenia's main pilgrimage site, and the SPIRIT agency and will be at the pavilion until 6 January.

Plečnik's nativity scene was presented to the visitors by the head of the Brezje museum of nativity scenes, Andreja Eržen Firšt, who also presented Slovenia's Christmas traditions and customs.

The response of the visitors was incredible and Plečnik's art works were very well received in the Arabic world, said the Brezje office in today's press release.

"Master Plečnik drew a number of designs, all attesting the architect's geniality, including in miniatures. But among all of them the symbolic nativity scene and stylised Christmas trees hold a special place," the office said about the displayed items by Plečnik.
